Michigan Opera Theatre announces auditions for the following positions
Michigan Opera Theatre seeks highly qualified individuals for the position of Concertmaster, beginning Spring 2016.
Auditions for Concertmaster will begin at 10am on November 19, 2015. All rounds of the audition will be completed on this date, and all rounds will be screened. However, finalists may be invited to play one or more opera productions during the 2016 Spring Season to complete the audition process.
Michigan Opera Theatre 2015-16 Season
October 6 – December 6, 2015.
March 1 – May 22, 2016.
The M.O.T. orchestra performs four operas and one ballet each season, with an average of 10 services per production.
Service rate for 2015-16 Season: $148.47/Rehearsal, $160.83/Dress rehearsal, and $197.34/Performance. Principal 20%, Doubling 12.5%. A.F.M. pension fund 10.9%. Concertmaster pay and benefits are negotiable and commensurate with qualifications.
M.O.T. orchestra members are occasionally utilized for other presentations at the Detroit Opera House that may occur outside of the regular M.O.T. season schedule.
Service rates for the Detroit Opera House 2015-16 Season: $118.23/Rehearsal, $183.25/Performance. Premiums and Doubling 12%. A.F.M. pension fund 11.99%.

Deposits will be refunded upon arrival to audition. Deposits will not be refunded for audition cancelations after November 1, 2015.
