Increasing Regional Philanthropy Program Update |

| The Increasing Regional Philanthropy (IRP) initiative at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan started in October 2005 as a follow-up to the Touch the Future Program to educate attorneys, nonprofits and the general public about the benefit of planned giving and endowment building, officially ended at the end of April, 2008, with $7.9 million distributed among 87 agencies, including Michigan Opera Theatre. The 87 agencies were allowed to raise gifts ranging from $1,000 to $300,000 per donor, up to $1 million total and receive additional matching funds up to $500,000 by December 31, 2008 or until the matching pool is exhausted. As an active participant in this program, Michigan Opera Theatre received $437,023 including match monies. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors for their generosity that has leveraged a 2:1 matching gift from the Community Foundation. Your foresight not only ensures the stability of MOT and its many and diverse programs for years to come, but also allows the organization to receive annual distributions from our endowment fund at the Community Foundation. As you know, your gifts and matching funds are deposited at the Michigan Opera Theatre Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation.
