Detroit’s Premier Social Event Returns to the Detroit Opera House, May 4, 2007

DETROIT, Michigan, March 15, 2007…An extraordinary evening of food, spirits, fun and entertainment in support of one of Detroit’s premier cultural attractions, BravoBravo! returns to the Detroit Opera House on May 4, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., presented by Lexus. Greektown Casino and Comerica are platinum sponsors for the event.  Now in its eighth year, BravoBravo! continues to grow—this year featuring over 40 food and beverage providers, DJs and live performances, as well as a silent auction — all in support of the magnificently restored Detroit Opera House.  BravoBravo!, an annual event put on by the young professionals of the Michigan Opera Theatre Volunteer Association, will be hosted by WDIV-TV Local 4 Style Reporter and Detroit style icon Jon Jordan, and chaired by Melinda Anderson, Bill Bowen and Jason Dritsan.

For 2007, BravoBravo! lights up Friday night, perfect for young professionals out to mingle after a long day at work.  Arriving guests will stroll the red carpet—the perfect place to see and be seen and be photographed by Six Degrees Magazine and Ambassador Magazine—and enter a Detroit Opera House which will be transformed into a posh, trendy club atmosphere.  Perusing the grand lobby, patrons can sample Detroit’s best cuisine, ranging from the delicious soups and sandwiches of Moo Moo’s Organic Bistro, mouth-watering Mac and Cheese from Slow’s Bar-B-Q, to the famous Opus One cookies (complete food and beverage provider list enclosed).  Crave Restaurant + Sushi Bar + Lounge will provide strolling appetizers throughout the opera house.  Beverage providers include Strawberry Spirits¸ The Union Street Saloon and The Town Pump and Centaur, among others.

For BravoBravo! 2007, guests will discover the theater’s main floor covered with a super-bowl-size platform (courtesy of Levitation), joined to the stage to create a large lounge area for mingling and dancing.  Unique furnishings to complete the transformation from theater to posh nightclub will be provided by Ital Moda. DJ Rubix Cube and DJ Captain 20 will spin an eclectic mix of distinctly Detroit sounds.  For those interested in live entertainment, BravoBravo! is pleased to bring back That 80’s Band on the main stage, with Detroit acts Blackman & Arnold World Jazz Quartet and Hot Club of Detroit playing in other areas of the building to suit a variety of musical tastes.  Rock violinist and Amsterdam native Rachel Grace will also provide live entertainment for guests while smaller upstairs lounges will be host to the ambient sounds of Paxahau Promotions Group. Wendy & Renee, The Psychic Sisters, will be entertaining guests with their accurate readings all evening long.

The evening will also include a very special silent auction, including lots provided by Greektown Casino, Lamborghini Troy, and The Roostertail. (complete auction donor list enclosed).
