Opera Clubs – Industry Leaders Recognize MOT’s Audience Engagement
Michigan Opera Theatre’s Arthur White, audience engagement coordinator, represented the company at Opera America Conference 2015, held in Washington, D.C. MOT was invited to showcase its Opera Club program developed by White. This grassroots approach to audience development is a model for other arts organizations.
White created 14 opera clubs, each in a different community throughout metro Detroit and southeast Michigan. These one-hour events educate the community and promote the season while highlighting local operatic talent.
